M Richardson Rare Books

Good to see that book fairs are back in full swing, well, almost! You'll be able to search most of the books we have in stock on our Abebooks storefront where, for the month of April 2022 there is 30% off all of our stock. We are constantly adding new stock online also so do also contact us if you don't find what you want there. For example we have a number of scarce, signed Booker Prize winners which are not currently listed. Copy this link: https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/StoreFrontDisplay?cid=50563488 If there are any of these that you'd like to see photos of or ask for more information on then please do get in touch. M. Richardson Rare Books was formerly known as Mr. Books Bookshop and located on Tonbridge High Street in Kent, England for over 12 years up until July 2017. The shop is still there under new owners so, due to the sale of the bricks and mortar side of the business, it made sense to change our name to reflect this change of direction. (And we had to because the new owner liked the name so much it went with the business sale!) We now trade mainly online and at PBFA fairs up and down the country from our new base nestling in the foothills of the picturesque Lincolnshire Wolds. We also exhibit at Bloomsbury Book Fairs in London a few times a year, and occasionally have a small selection of fine books for sale at select antique centres, such as Hemswell, in Lincolnshire. Whilst we don't specialize in anything in particular we do lean towards certain subjects such as collectable modern fiction and children's books, and also have many fishing books and topographical books & ephemera. But really we just sell rare and fine books on many subjects. The stock is being constantly replenished so it's always worth visiting us at one of the fairs. We travel far and wide to purchase quality collections so please feel free to call us.

A Century, Not Out a cricketing tale

Description

A brand new copy of the first impression written by Yours Truly. As a bookseller, I've sold a lot of books but this is the first time I've written one! A novella/short story. Official book launch on September 29th, 2021, although copies are available now. Publisher's description: It was meant to be just a nice day out with a practical purpose. A family had decided that this was the day to go and maintain their father's memorial bench in a small village church yard in the heart of south Yorkshire. The weather was glorious, sky larks were singing, and a cricket match provided the backdrop to the idyllic summer scene. As the match got into full swing, a passing interest in cricket was to transform into one of the most memorable days in the life of one member of the family. A day which was to change the way he perceived his own life and how the very nature of our understanding of the relationship between the living and those who have passed on is perceived. The book is rich in imagery and colourful Yorkshire dialect and is sure to appeal to fans of cricket, proud Yorkshiremen and anyone who loves their father. If all three of these are you then you’ve scored a triple century! Never stop chasing your dreams as sometimes they do come true! Sure to become a classic! Personal signed and dedicated copies can be arranged. Let us know when ordering the sort of wording you'd like.
