The model was commissioned by photographer Henry Mayson and his brother Thomas, and was built by Raffaelle Monti and his team of sculptors using Ordnance survey maps. The scale of the poster suggests it may have been pasted up on billboards / railway station platforms? - this poster is worn as described but shows no evidence of having been used. each section measures approx 505mm x 760mm
