First edition, limited to 300 copies, printed and bound by the Fine Book Bindery, Finedon, Northants. Signed by the author on half-title page (just signature). Blue cloth with printed title label on pale blue paper on panel to front cover. Blue endpapers. Nicely printed on cream paper. With linocuts by Robert Gillmor in text and to title page, and line drawings in text by Jane Sanders and Tracey Tofield. Raymond Howe lived for most of his life in Northamptonshire, and had various stories published, winning the H.E. Bates short story prize. A Thing of Beauty was his last book, and is a story about a blacksmith's apprentice. Fine copy.
