Pan's Garden: A volume of nature stories

FIRST EDITION. 8vo, pp. xi, [1], 530, [2], [4 adverts], 1-7, [1] ‘New Macmillan Fiction’ catalogue + W. Graham Robertson’s b/w frontis, illustrations and decorated title panels. Original green illustrated cloth, spine and upper board lettered in gilt and decorated in black (with an appropriately spooky illustration to the spine, taken from ‘Clairvoyance’. Rubbed, pushing and wear to spine ends, corners bumped, bump to heel of bottom board. Front hinge cracked, but binding holding firm, endpapers foxed, POI to ffep: “Margot S.[?] Keswick,” with bookseller’s speculation in pencil below: “with dedicatee’s singnature?????” (The printed dedication is to “M.S.K.”), a few creased pages. Else, clean and tidy. A very nice copy of Blackwood’s collection of “atmospheric nature tales” (unlikely with dedicatee’s signature), uncommon.
