Some Tame Gazelle : With The Original First Issue Wrapper

The First UK printing published by Jonathan Cape in 1950. The BOOK is in near Fine condition and appears unread with just a little dustiness to the upper text-block. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. It is the correct first issue, priced at 9s 6d net, with no reviews to the rear panel. Mild edge wear at the spine ends with some light creasing and rubbing. A 3cm closed tear to the upper rear spine fold and a small closed tear at the upper rear flap fold. There is NO fading of colouring to the spine and the rear panel and flaps are remarkably clean for their age. A very light crease to the upper rear panel edge. The wrapper looks very striking in the removal Brodart archival cover. A very sharp copy of the author's first book and extremely scarce with the elusive first issue wrapper. Only the second copy that we have handled as such. Philip Larkin called Pym the 'most underrated writer of the century'. Collectible
