Swallows and Amazons

This is a 1st printing of the First and only Cheap Edition of “Swallows and Amazons” by Arthur Ransome with illustrations by the Author with help from Miss Nancy Blackett and published by Jonathan Cape in 1953 with its unclipped dust jacket. The book has 352 pages with all the Illustrations and Maps of the Standard Edition. It is bound in green cloth with gilt titles on the spine and there are no marks or inscriptions in the text. The binding is tight and does not lean but the pages have browned and the top of the boards have faded a bit. The jacket is complete with no major damage apart from some very small nicks to the top of the spine. The corners of the boards are not bumped. A lovely copy of a collectable book.
