Title in gilt on black leather patch to compartment two. Author in gilt to compartment four. 9ins x 6ins, xx, 324pp plus frontispiece and 3 folding maps. Translated from the French, with a foreword by G. Frederic Lees. Map 3 has a large tear which has been carefully repaired with japanese vellum to the obverse. Attractive copy of a fairly scarce title.
