Contains short accounts of slavery in the West Indies, Virginia and Brazil, and in Africa. Intended as child's geography book , written and printed during the Regency period. Title page depicts chained slave beneath a palm tree looking wistful on a beach. Map of Africa facing tile page remarkable for large area (now South Africa) described as "regions unexplored".28 pages of plates, each page containing 3 plates. The plates are a little fanciful, depicting the odd giant sea monster eating a bullock, giant bird of prey etc but the scenes of chained slaves being led across beaches are poignant.
