This is a 1st H/Bk copy of “Sketches of the Natural History of Ceylon” by Sir J. Emerson Tennent, KCS LL.D &c, published by Longman, Green, Longman and Roberts, London in 1861. The book has more than 500 pages of text and illustrations and includes a monograph of The Elephant. The book was published earlier in 2 volumes. The book is bound in maroon cloth with leather spine and quarters. There is some foxing to the end papers but it is fine internally. There is a previous owners name on the front end paper in pencil and some numbers inside the front board in pencil but nothing else.
